Dr. Diana Macian, MD, F.A.A.E.M.

Before becoming a Concierge physician, Dr. Diana Macian worked in the Emergency Department at Naples Community Hospital on the frontline throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. She welcomed her time focused on emergency medicine but realized that the fast pace, hurried appointment slots, and administrative burdens did not provide her the time needed to build strong patient-physician relationships.

Leaving the Emergency Department, she joined Wellcome MD, a concierge medical practice with multiple clinics in several states. There she was introduced to Functional and Integrative medication and how important it is for a more wholistic approach to medicine.

Starting her own practice is an exciting change for her: “Opening my own practice alleviates the pressure of those quick ten-minute appointments found in more traditional practices. It also lessens taxing administrative duties and allows me to practice medicine in the way it should be with the patients in the center.”  Establishing my own practice gives me the ability to build strong patient-physician bond.

Establishing her own practice has given Dr. Macian a chance to talk to patients about their conditions while developing a relationship of trust. It also affords her the opportunity to fully understand the nature of their illness while allowing them to ask questions in an unrushed, low-pressure environment. This extra time helps create a better roadmap for their overall care plan and achieve patient goals more easily.

Dr. Macian's patients include all ages, including younger families and seniors in their 90’s. She treats a wide range of medical issues as a General Practitioner and focuses on a comprehensive approach for all her patients to maintain good health and improve quality of life. One goal she has is to try to focus on what is the cause of the medical problem and addressing the issue rather than covering it up with another medication.

A great influence in her life was her grandmother, a military veteran, who lived to be 102:“I love taking care of patients who are in their 90s. They hold a special place in my heart because they have a unique perspective on life and their healthcare. Taking care of patients in their 90s is such an honor for me because they are truly part of the greatest generation.“

As a military veteran, having served throughout the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, Dr. Macian developed a passion for veterans’ healthcare issues and providing outstanding medical services to those who have served our country. She is a wife, philanthropist, and mother of three school-age children. In her off time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She loves sharing her enthusiasm for science with young people and volunteers in the community and at her children’s school on a regular basis.

Dr. Macian attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Science and completed her residency at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
